Welcome to Second Chance Hub. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our services, including our SMS text messaging program. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Second Chance Hub services, including signing up for our SMS program, attending appointments, or participating in our workforce reentry programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

2. Eligibility

Our services are available to individuals who:

Are 18 years of age or older
Are seeking workforce reentry support and services
Provide accurate and complete information during enrollment
Agree to participate in good faith

We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate participation if eligibility requirements are not met or if there is a violation of these Terms.

3. Description of Services

Second Chance Hub provides workforce reentry services for justice-impacted individuals, including but not limited to:

Job placement assistance and employer connections
Skills training and certification programs
Resume development and interview preparation
Rapid response scheduling and appointment coordination
Case management and ongoing support
Referrals to partner organizations for additional services
SMS text message notifications and reminders

Services are provided free of charge to eligible participants. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time without prior notice.

4. SMS Text Messaging ProgramDescription of SMS Use Cases

By opting into our SMS program, you consent to receive text messages for the following purposes:

Appointment Reminders: Notifications about upcoming meetings, interviews, and program sessions
Job Opportunities: Alerts about available positions matching your skills and interests
Program Updates: Important information about services, schedule changes, or new opportunities
Check-Ins: Follow-up messages to support your progress and engagement
Service Notifications: Confirmations, cancellations, and time-sensitive communications
Emergency Alerts: Urgent notifications related to safety or critical program matters

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your program participation and service needs. You may receive up to 10 messages per week during active participation. Frequency may increase during job search periods or when coordinating time-sensitive appointments.

Message and Data Rate Disclosure

Standard message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier's plan. Second Chance Hub does not charge for text messages, but your wireless carrier may charge you for messages or data usage according to your service plan.

You are responsible for all carrier charges related to text messages and data usage. Contact your mobile carrier for information about your messaging plan and rates.

Opt-Out Instructions

You have the right to opt-out of SMS messages at any time. To stop receiving text messages:

Reply STOP to any text message from Second Chance Hub
Contact us directly at the phone number or email address provided below
Inform your case manager or program coordinator

After you send STOP, we will send you one final confirmation message confirming your opt-out, and you will no longer receive text messages from us.

Important: Opting out of text messages does not affect your eligibility for services. You will continue to receive support through other communication methods (phone calls, email, or in-person meetings).

Supported Carriers

Our SMS program is supported by all major U.S. mobile carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, and others. If you experience issues with message delivery, please contact your carrier or reach out to us for assistance.

5. Participant Responsibilities

As a participant in Second Chance Hub programs, you agree to:

Provide Accurate Information: Submit truthful and complete information during enrollment and throughout your participation
Attend Scheduled Appointments: Arrive on time for meetings, interviews, and program sessions. Provide advance notice if you need to reschedule
Communicate Promptly: Respond to messages and requests from staff in a timely manner
Maintain Professionalism: Conduct yourself professionally when interacting with staff, employers, and partner organizations
Follow Program Guidelines: Adhere to program rules, policies, and expectations
Update Contact Information: Notify us immediately of any changes to your phone number, email, or address
Respect Confidentiality: Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of other participants
Report Issues: Inform staff of any barriers, challenges, or concerns affecting your participation

6. Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination from our programs:

Providing false or misleading information
Harassment, threats, or abusive behavior toward staff, employers, or other participants
Misuse of services for unauthorized purposes
Sharing confidential information about other participants or program operations
Appearing under the influence of drugs or alcohol at appointments or program activities
Engaging in illegal activities related to program participation
Intentional damage to property or equipment
Repeated failure to attend scheduled appointments without notice

7. Confidentiality and Privacy

Second Chance Hub is committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We maintain confidentiality regarding your program participation, except:

When you provide consent to share information with employers or partners
When required by law, court order, or legal process
When necessary to comply with parole/probation requirements
When disclosure is necessary to protect safety or prevent harm
When required by funding sources for reporting purposes (data is anonymized)

8. Employer Connections and Job Placement

Second Chance Hub connects participants with potential employers and facilitates job placement. However:

We do not guarantee employment or job offers
All hiring decisions are made solely by employers
We are not responsible for employment terms, conditions, or disputes
Participants are responsible for maintaining employment once hired
Background checks, drug testing, and other employer requirements are at the employer's discretion

You authorize us to share your employment profile, resume, and relevant information with potential employers who may be a good match for your skills and interests.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Second Chance Hub provides services "as is" without warranties of any kind
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services
We are not responsible for actions or decisions made by employers, partner organizations, or third parties
Our total liability for any claims related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for services (which is typically zero)

This limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

10. Carrier Liability Disclaimer

Second Chance Hub and your mobile carrier are not liable for delayed or undelivered text messages. Message delivery depends on factors beyond our control, including:

Mobile carrier network availability and reliability
Device compatibility and settings
Signal strength and coverage areas
Device storage capacity and functionality

We recommend checking your messages regularly and contacting us through alternate methods if you do not receive expected notifications.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, materials, and resources provided by Second Chance Hub, including curriculum, training materials, documents, and program content, are the intellectual property of Second Chance Hub or its licensors.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our materials without written permission.

12. Third-Party Services

We may refer you to or partner with third-party organizations for additional services (housing, transportation, counseling, etc.). We are not responsible for the quality, availability, or actions of third-party service providers.

Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and conditions.

13. Program Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your participation in our programs at any time if:

You violate these Terms or our policies
You engage in prohibited conduct
You provide false or misleading information
Your continued participation poses a safety risk
You are no longer eligible for services
Funding or resources for your program become unavailable

You may also voluntarily withdraw from programs at any time by notifying your case manager or program coordinator.

14. Changes to Terms of Service

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or operational practices. We will notify you of material changes by:

Posting the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date
Sending a text message or email notification (if you've opted in)
Providing notice at your next program appointment

Your continued use of our services after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint or concern about our services:

We are committed to resolving disputes informally and in good faith. Most concerns can be addressed through direct communication with our staff.

16. Governing Law
